A quiet day for hardware: the only maker announcement worth your time is a software one, from Microsoft, and most of Europe is left out of it.

Microsoft rebuilds the Edge new tab page around video and Copilot summaries

Microsoft has launched a reworked content feed for the new tab page in Edge, which also appears in the Discover dashboard on the Windows taskbar. The company says it rebuilt the recommendation system to put more weight on relevance, freshness and quality, and gave video a more prominent place. Microsoft says content comes from 1,500 premium publishers and from over 3,500 creators.

The feed also expands Curated by Copilot, which uses AI to combine several articles on a topic into one view. Microsoft says publishers get attribution to the original source and can manage their participation through a Partner Hub. You can follow topics and publishers to adjust what appears.

Availability is the catch for European readers. Microsoft says the feed is live on desktop in the US, Canada, UK, Australia and India. No EU country is on that list. Microsoft only says it will bring the experience to more countries, plus mobile and MSN.com, in the coming months, without naming countries or dates. Microsoft gives no price.
